The 3D2003 recorder is used to cut the lacquer master for a vinyl record. Given up for dead twice, at the dawn of the cassette, and later upon the arrival of digital audio, vinyl has enjoyed resurgence in recent years. At the high end audio venue at this year’s CES show, turntables were in evidence everywhere, with many manufacturers featuring this elegant and enduring analog medium.

The 3D2003 is available in two forms, as a retrofit of an existing Westrex stereo recorder, and a complete, all new head. In addition to mechanical improvements to enhance high frequency performance and reduce distortion, a completely new electronics system has been developed to compliment the 3D2003 recorder.
