Lead Product Marketing Manager

Dave vs. Goliath. We’re Dave. Dave is a financial app on a mission to build products that level the financial playing field. It is redefining the financial landscape by leveraging technology to create an affordable, transparent, and user-centric access to liquidity for millions of Americans. As a leading innovator in the U.S. financial services sector, Dave’s digital financial platform offers products designed to meet the credit needs of those underserved by traditional financial institutions. Dave’s offerings include its flagship ExtraCash product, providing members up to $500 within minutes. The company is on track to launch several new product offerings in 2026, including a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) option. Dave is focused on serving Americans who are financially vulnerable or living paycheck to paycheck. Dave is leading the charge in creating a new era of credit products that prioritizes speed, affordability, and accessibility, making it the go-to financial partner for those who need it most. We’re hiring a Lead Product Marketing Manager to help define how we bring products to market at Dave—across both our flagship offerings and new products still in development. The Opportunity This is a foundational, high-impact individual contributor role. You’ll help establish the “how” behind product marketing at Dave—building the processes, rigor, and frameworks that guide segmentation, positioning, and go-to-market decisions—while also executing hands-on across existing and new products. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Research, Analytics, and Marketing, with real visibility and accountability. This role is for someone who wants meaningful ownership, is comfortable driving forward in ambiguity, and is motivated by being trusted to shape outcomes—not just outputs. What You’ll Build and Own Customer segmentation and targeting: Define who we’re building for using deep, data-backed segmentation that goes beyond demographics. You’ll incorporate behavior, attitudes toward short-term credit, willingness to pay, alternatives members consider, feature preferences, and perceptions of neobanks. Existing member segmentation: Create an actionable segmentation of current members based on activity, lifecycle stage, demographics, and product usage—used to power onboarding, cross-sell, engagement, and churn mitigation. Product and company positioning: Help clearly define Dave’s category and how our products—both established and new—compare to alternatives. Bring clarity to where we win, for whom, and why. Value proposition development: Craft clear, differentiated value propositions and product narratives that connect rational and emotional benefits and stay consistent across the funnel. New product 0→1 support: Partner early with Product, Research, and Analytics to shape positioning and go-to-market strategy for new products as they move from concept to launch. Market and competitive intelligence: Track competitive offerings, category shifts, and emerging member needs to keep Dave differentiated and forward-looking. Foundational PMM processes: Establish scalable product marketing processes—how insights are gathered, decisions are made, launches are supported, and quality is maintained as the portfolio grows. Strategy grounded in member insights: Bring rigor to decision-making by leveraging research, analytics, and testing to pressure-test ideas, mitigate risk, and ensure the member perspective is embedded in roadmaps. The Impact Your work will directly influence what Dave builds, how products launch, and how millions of members understand and adopt them—across both our core business and what comes next. What We’re Looking For Experience and foundation: 7+ years of product marketing experience on consumer-facing products Required: B2C fintech product marketing experience Proven strength in segmentation, positioning, and value proposition development tied to business outcomes Strong data fluency, with experience partnering closely with Analytics and Research Track record of influencing senior leaders in fast-moving, ambiguous environments Exceptional communicator who can simplify complex ideas into clear, actionable direction. Bonus: Experience working with credit-challenged or underserved consumers What Makes Someone Successful Here You’re a driver. You don’t wait for perfect inputs or fully formed processes—you create clarity, move work forward, and hold a high bar for rigor and quality. You’re comfortable owning outcomes, not just recommendations, and you’re trusted because your work is grounded in data, research, and sound judgment. You collaborate naturally across Product, Design, Research, Analytics, and Marketing, earning credibility through follow-through and substance. When priorities shift, you adapt quickly without losing focus or standards. What to Expect High visibility and real accountability. Autonomy paired with clear expectations. A fast-moving environment where priorities can shift based on what we learn. If you want ownership that comes with responsibility—and the chance to define how product marketing operates—this role is built for that. Why Join Dave Foundational ownership: Help define how product marketing works at Dave. Breadth of scope: Balance evolving core products with true 0→1 new product work. Meaningful impact: Your work directly affects how people access short-term liquidity and financial tools. Ready to build for the underdog? Dave is leading the charge in creating a new era of credit products that prioritizes speed, affordability, and accessibility, making it the go-to financial partner for those who need it most. The Opportunity This is a senior, deeply hands-on role on a small, high-leverage SRE team (3–4 engineers). You’ll serve as a technical anchor across cloud infrastructure and networking, shaping how reliability, automation, and performance are embedded into every layer of our platform. You won’t just respond to incidents. You’ll design the systems that prevent them. You’ll partner closely with the Director of DevX & Infrastructure Engineering and cross-functional teams to evolve our GCP platform in ways that support product velocity while protecting long-term durability. What You’ll Build and Own Lead architecture and automation across our GCP environment, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and thoughtful cost management. Define and improve SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets using Cloud Monitoring and Datadog — connecting reliability goals to real business outcomes. Shape our multi-region, disaster recovery, and capacity planning strategies so the platform holds up as we grow. Design and optimize cloud networking, including VPC architecture, ingress/egress, Cloud Armor, VPN, and DNS to support internal systems, partner integrations, and member-facing services. Drive infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD to make deployments predictable and repeatable. Your work directly supports trust, growth, and long-term platform resilience. What we’re looking for Experience & Technical Foundation 8+ years in software, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering. 5+ years of hands-on experience operating production systems in GCP (compute, networking, storage, IAM, observability). Deep experience with Kubernetes (GKE), Helm, containerization, Terraform (IaC), and ArgoCD. Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript/JavaScript for automation and internal tooling. Experience defining and operating against SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets. Strong knowledge of relational and distributed databases (e.g., MySQL, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Redis), including performance tuning and HA strategies. Experience leading incident response, root cause analysis, and systemic remediation. Bonus Experience in fintech or regulated environments Familiarity with CI tooling (GHA, Jenkins, Tekton, CircleCI) Experience in high-growth startups. What Makes Someone Successful Here You take responsibility for outcomes, not just deliverables. You think in systems — how networking decisions affect latency, how reliability targets affect member trust, how cost decisions affect long-term sustainability. You balance urgency with durability and make thoughtful trade-offs that hold up over time. You’re comfortable operating in ambiguity. Not everything is fully defined — and you help shape it. You ask good questions before committing to a path and connect day-to-day execution to broader business goals. You also collaborate naturally. You partner with product engineers, TPMs, and security teams without creating friction. You use feedback to sharpen solutions. You invest in mentoring others because strong systems include strong engineers. What to Expect We move quickly, but not chaotically. Priorities evolve as we learn from data and growth. You’ll have meaningful autonomy and visibility, along with clear accountability and partnership across the organization. Why Join Dave A mission that directly improves members’ financial lives. Real scope on a small, high-impact team. The opportunity to shape platform architecture at a profitable, growing public company. Complex, meaningful technical challenges with long-term influence. Dave is leading the charge in creating a new era of credit products that prioritizes speed, affordability, and accessibility, making it the go-to financial partner for those who need it most. Dave is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead our Ledger & Reconciliation Platform team — the systems that ensure every dollar moving through Dave is correct, fully accounted for, and auditable end-to-end. The Opportunity You’ll lead a team building Dave’s internal financial source of truth from the ground up. This is a greenfield effort to replace external systems with a proprietary ledger and reconciliation platform that supports all current and future products. This work sits at the intersection of distributed systems and real-world financial operations, where correctness is non-negotiable. You’ll partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Product, and Data to translate how money actually moves into systems that are deterministic, traceable, and built to stand up to audit. Not everything is fully defined — you’ll help shape the foundation. What You’ll Build & Own Lead and grow a small, high-leverage team building ledger systems and reconciliation pipelines from the ground up Define architecture that prioritizes correctness, idempotency, and auditability over short-term convenience Design and evolve double-entry ledger models, transaction lifecycles, and reconciliation workflows across multiple products Build systems that reconcile internal state with external partners (banks, processors, networks) with high confidence Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Product, and Data Engineering to encode financial rules and controls directly into system design Establish engineering practices focused on data integrity, observability, and reliable recovery The Impact Your team owns the integrity of Dave’s financial systems. You’ve worked in environments where getting the numbers right isn’t optional, and you bring that mindset into how you design systems and guide your team. You make thoughtful trade-offs between speed and durability, and you care about building systems that hold up over time — especially under audit and scale. You also lead through collaboration. You work closely with Accounting, Finance, Product, and Data partners to ensure systems reflect how money actually moves. You ask thoughtful questions, incorporate feedback, and help your team navigate ambiguity without losing momentum. You bring structure where it doesn’t yet exist and help others connect their work to the broader system. What to Expect You’ll join at an early stage of building a foundational platform. The problems are complex and evolving, and you’ll have real autonomy to shape both the system and the team.
